Hundreds of years ago, there were many millions of sea turtles swimming the Earth's oceans. Today, all seven species of sea turtle are considered either endangered or threatened.

Named after the Hawaiian word for sea turtle (pronounced “ho-nu”), Honu Beer benefits the World Turtle Trust, a non-profit organization that funds sea turtle conservation efforts worldwide.

Honu beer is widely available in stores and markets throughout Hawaii, as well as many great restaurants and bars. If you can't find Honu Beer at your favorite watering hole, ask the proprietor to order some to not only quench your thirst, but to help preserve the sea turtle population.

Created with blue skies and palm trees in mind, Honu Beer is brewed in small batches with 100-percent premium malted barley and a blend of domestic and imported hops. The pale gold beer is crisp and refreshing, with an uncommon roundness of flavor.

Since many people have no idea about the dire state of most turtle populations, May 23 was designated World Turtle Day to bring attention to conservation issues and to highlight ways individuals can protect these reptiles.

It is easy to make a difference. Please make a donation of $25 to go towards saving a sea turtle's home. In exchange for your generous donation, you will receive an e-certificate of adoption and a fact sheet about sea turtles.
